Sazal Kumer Hazra

Mr. Hazra is a seasoned leader and an entrepreneur in the Telecom and ICT Business sector with a long and rewarding career in various strategic leadership roles both in Bangladesh and on a global stage. His long list of designations include CEO, CTO, Planning and Strategy Director, Implementation Director and Project Director, to name a few.

He worked on long & short term assignments in India, Thailand and Myanmar for Telenor and Nokia. He was the project director for Grameenphone’s 3G launch, Bangladesh’s first private telecom operator; also operating as the CTO for the 4G launch of Telenor India, GP’s parent company. Understanding the parameters of his business goals and utilizing his resources to bring out the best possible outcome.

During his tenure, Grameenphone achieved its lowest cost in the Telenor group for infrastructure. HIs other endeavors include Dingi Technologies Ltd., which won the national ICT award in the transport category, being anointed as a champion for two consecutive years in 2019 & 2020. Mango Teleservices Ltd has tripled its revenue in eight months since he joined.

Mr. Sumon Ahmed Sabir

Technology Advisor

Mr. Sumon Ahmed Sabir allied with Fiber@Home back in April, 2012 as the Chief Technology Officer (CTO). His expertise extended beyond the entities he is affiliated with but rather on local and a continental scale. Once completing graduation from Dhaka University he commenced his journey in the field of technology.

His expertise lies in Sun Solaris, SCO Unix, HP-UX, Linux, Cisco IOS, MySQL, Apache to name a few. Additionally through his formative years he also became an expert with Internet Routing, Internet Exchange Point, IPv6, MPLS Deployment, IP RAN Backhaul and Fast Convergence in IP Network. His grasp of the Internet Ecosystem in the region led him to all his ventures. He worked as an IT Consultant for Information Services Limited and Aftab IT Limited.

For his day job, he is the CTO of Fiber@Home, one of the largest private sector Telecom Transmission Networks, and has been at the center of Bangladesh’s Internet community for almost three decades, leading the establishment of Bangladesh’s IXP, CERT, and NOG. Mr. Ahmed is presently serving as an Executive Council Member of APNIC(Asia Pacific Network Information Center) while having served as Policy Chair as well. Mr. Ahmed also served as a MAG(Multistakeholder Advisory Group) Member of the UN Internet Governance Forum. He was one of the first few members to work with BDCOM Online Ltd. in laying the blueprint. Towards the end of his BDCOM Online Ltd. tenure he operated as the MD first, then the CEO.

His role in the technology department of Fiber@Home consists of 3 branches: Planning, Implementation and Operational Management. The primary concern of this division is to maintain a nationwide transmission service for the clients as per their need. To maintain a cohesive transmission link throughout the country, all 3 components work together to meet client requirements. This service is monitored 24/7 for a quick and smooth response in order to keep the waiting time to minimal.

Applies standard programming procedures and knowledge of pertinent functional areas. Analyzes needs, designs, writes new programs and applications. Programs developed or modified are typically linked to several other programs; (i.e., the output of one becomes the input for another). Maintains and revises existing systems and provides technical assistance to stakeholders as well as to others in ITS. Works according to approved requirements and detailed specifications for complying client services . Applies judgment in devising architecture, program logic,algorithm and selecting and adapting standard programming procedures; obtains advice when precedents are unclear or unavailable. Agile methodology is preferred for SDLC, Bussiness Process re-engineering, System engineering and DevOps. Passionate to work with SI, R&D, SaaS, PaaS, System Security's.
